The answer to the most asked question in Trent Hills is — Wednesday, Nov. 27 at 6 a.m.
That’s when YMCA Northumberland will be open for business at the Sunny Life Recreation & Wellness Centre. People have been asking for months when the pool would be ready, especially in recent weeks since the rink opened on Oct. 18.
Starting November 27, YMCA Northumberland’s Campbellford location will be open for its regular hours of 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday to Friday; 7a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturdays; and 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays, said Kathryn Harrison, Manager, Marketing Communications & Media Relations, for the YMCA.
On opening day visitors will have access to the personal conditioning centre, two pools, and guided tours of the facility. Group fitness classes are being developed and will start as soon as possible.
The centre includes a warming pool, a four-lane 25-metre pool, a conditioning centre with free weights, weight machines and cardio equipment, multiple changerooms, two studios and a multi-purpose space.
“We are very excited to finally bring this new YMCA location to Campbellford and the Municipality of Trent Hills,” said Eunice Kirkpatrick, President & CEO, YMCA Northumberland. “This bright and spacious building reflects our commitment to creating a welcoming place where people of all ages can improve their health, build friendships, and connect as a community.”
YMCA Northumberland is offering special opening rates on one-month memberships, available until November 27. Members can take advantage of discounted rates for their first month, including: individuals, $30; couples, $55; and a group or family of up to five people for $70.
Memberships can be purchased online or in person at the Sunny Life Recreation & Wellness Centre. Check here for details. The fee schedule is identical to that of the Cobourg YMCA. The annual adult fee is $830 and for seniors it is $711.
To celebrate the opening of the new facility, in partnership with the Municipality of Trent Hills, YMCA Northumberland will also hold an open house on Friday, December 13 from 2:30 pm. to 6 p.m. This event, free and open to everyone, will offer an opportunity for people to experience the new facility. Attendees can enjoy the official ceremonies, free skating and swimming, class demonstrations, kid’s activities, light refreshments and other holiday fun.
