Winter is officially over, dog park reopens
Ferris Park's off-leash area now unlocked and ready for playtime
Just a quick note to say that the summertime off-leash dog park in Ferris Park is now open. I thought it might not be open until the long weekend, but discovered that the park officially opened on Friday and the padlock has been removed from the gate. A related benefit, the lock is also off the nearby garbage can, so you don’t have to carry your dog poop on the rest of your walk.
Alfie, my cockapoo who is about to celebrate his first birthday, gave the facility the sniff test, repeatedly, yesterday and seemed satisfied. He’d no doubt like it better with his best four-legged friend Bailey. So far this spring, they’ve often met for an off-leash run and wrestle on the soccer field.
Also, the grass in the enclosure had been cut so it seems less likely that ticks will be hiding out.
My previous story about the creation of the $50,000 park that’s only open when Ferris is open, is available here.
