You can't get there from here.

County and Trent Hills should be concerned about the present main bridge over the Trent, this bridge is old. I remember when it got closed for repairs and the Mayor at the time was down at the swing bridge putting tractor trailers over it. The head guy from Trent Severn had words big time about it and the Mayor had to quit directing traffic. Need some leadership it would be terrible if the present bridge got shut down for major repairs. Lived long enought to see the Trent River bridge built and the Cty. Rd. 50. They don,t last forever. The politicians have been talking about a new bridge in Campbellford for years.

I heard that it was approaching the end of it's service life, so "no bridge" is a real possibility.

I remember when the bridge on Cty rd 50 broke. A tractor trailer carrying Stele pipes just about made it to the South side when the trailer went down leaving the tractor on the road. I don’t think it was expected who knows what condition these old bridges are in. Don,t know how many years they have been talking about a new bridge.

People think trucks are going to come up Hwy. 30, then follow it out of town up to 11th line, then come back to CR 50? Unless they're of the "convoy class" of trucker, they're just going to straight through up CR 50. From lock 13 up to Bay meadows that road is one of the least pedestrian/cyclist friendly roads in the whole county and this isn't going to help.

Then again, if a couple of people get creamed by trucks this summer, maybe making improvements to the road will move up form some fantasyland "strategic plan" to some actual road improvements.
