Water testing can't really be that expensive, but OK. Does swimming have to be banned? I don't think so. Just post a sign saying users assume all risk. Although I can't believe the testing would be that much more expensive than replacing lost signs.

Regarding the kids drinking: This should also not result in everyone else losing access. If some folks can't teach their kids how to enjoy themselves and maintain order, then they should be fined for any damage/harm caused. Closing access for the rest of us adults is wrong.

I think it's a budget issue and they don't have the staff to do it. The province has slashed funding for all conservation authorities and the municipalities don't want to pay extra.
