Odd, I received a similar report of events yet to come, this one dated January 2031 ...
Ontario premier Doug Ford was sworn in as the first governor of the newest state, Trump, formerly known as Canada, at a special ceremony held today at Mar-a-Lago, the United States capital.
“This is a great honor as the last Canadian to be chosen the first governor of Trump,” Ford told Donald Trump, First Citizen of the United States.
Canada agreed to become the 50th state -- Alaska was returned to Russia in 2028 – when it became apparent the country couldn't survive as a nation after five years of grueling economic warfare with its much larger trading partner.
Details of the annexation are still being worked on, the sticking point being the terms of payment the new state will be required to make to repay the “massive illegal subsidies” Trump said were at “the center” of the trade imbalance between the two countries.
Ford was appointed governor without benefit of an election because, as Trump explained, “Dougie had already won three of them in the past five years, and was obviously a really popular guy beloved by his people.”
A reporter pointed out before being tasered that Ford was the leader of one province and not the entire country. Trump didn't wait for the reporter to recover to give his answer: “Ontario has the most people and most clout. A national election would have been superfluffous.”
Still, Ford was somewhat of a puzzling choice as he had based his election campaigns on standing up to Trump in defense of his province and country.
Trump admitted Ford's weekly visits to Mar-a-Lago were “annoying at first but the guy grew on me. And when Wayne (Gretzky) said he didn't want the job, I thought, 'What the heck. Why not take a chance on the Fordster.'”
Ford's governorship is a lifetime appointment subject to annual performance reviews by the Department of Government Efficiency.
Trump noted that Trumpians, as Canadians are now known, will appreciate the substantial savings in taxes their state will realize by not having to hold elections.
“The savings have been tremendous ever since we got rid of them here,” he said. “No one liked the Electoral College anyways. Well, I didn't mind it the first time around but who am I stand in the way of progress?”
I think maybe we should both have switched to writing fiction a while ago.
Wow. These are both highly entertaining. Wild.
