Cell service should be better in Trent Hills thanks to recent service upgrades and new towers, representatives from the Eastern Ontario Regional Network (EORN) told Northumberland County council on Wednesday.
The improvements are part of a $300 million public-private partnership to increase cell service in Eastern Ontario. Rogers is spending $150 million, the Eastern Ontario Wardens’ Caucus (EOWC) and the Eastern Ontario Mayors’ Caucus (EOMC) contributed $10.1 million, and the federal and provincial governments each spent $71 million.
In total, $16 million is being spent in Northumberland on 20 improvements in service, 10 new Rogers’ towers, and six new towers shared with other providers.
In Trent Hills, two towers near Campbellford have been upgraded to 5G service, and two new towers have been built, with another one at County Rd. 35 and Faux Rd. expected to come into service in 2026.
One tower near Hastings has also been upgraded. Three co-location towers are now in service south of Hastings and in the Warkworth area. A new tower was also built on the Alderville First Nation.

I live in Campbellford and the cell service here is still almost non existent. Good job!
