I'm glad to see that the current crisis is at least prompting some reflection about who and what we support with public funds. Should be a basic question for everyone who cares about local jobs and local business at any time.

Hopefully the new sidewalk cleaner and operator will be able to do the job without tearing up lawns and gardens all over town. The new machine will only be as good as the operators driving it. They need better direction and supervision and less “I just do what I’m told “ attitude.

I think council should be focused more on the influences of unelected bodies such as ICLEI rather than where some cheap quality parts are made.

The larger concern should be how these international agencies create and push policies that are not aligned with local priorities or issues.

We live in a world of global marketplace. There's no escape from spending money outside of our own country and these attempts to wrangle in spending to only a national level is shortsighted and naive.

Look at the BS with the LCBO. Products that were already paid for and taxed, being pulled from the shelves in some form of virtue signal when in reality its just the Commy nanny state that tells you what you can buy, from where, and when.

Yea, buy local and support your immediate region whenever you can. But this nonsense has to stop. Much larger issues to be concerned about that are actively crushing our municipality with zero consideration of our local needs and interests.
